Credits and Sources

Capoworks ECU documentation adapts and extends material from earlier open-source ECU projects. This page records the principal sources and explains how inherited names, images, and technical artifacts are treated.

FOME Wiki and Firmware

The initial documentation source is the FOME Wiki repository and its published site, wiki.fome.tech. The wiki was created and maintained by the FOME community. Copyright and authorship notices remain with the original files, and contributor history is preserved in the upstream commit history and this repository's history.

The FOME firmware source is at FOME-Tech/fome-fw. Capoworks documentation links to files in the Capoworks firmware repository when a corresponding path exists. Technical identifiers, source filenames, and artifact names retain their original spelling.

rusEFI

FOME was derived from rusEFI, and inherited documentation reflects rusEFI concepts, designs, and software. Thanks and credit remain with the rusEFI contributors and maintainers. Consult the rusEFI documentation and the upstream repository's license notice for the applicable source and licensing information.

Licenses and Authorship

Inherited FOME Wiki material designated as Creative Commons is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). The upstream FOME Wiki license file and the Capoworks documentation repository's LICENSE contain the license text.

Creator attribution, copyright notices, commit history, and any file-specific notice take precedence for the material to which they apply. See ATTRIBUTION.md for the preserved contributor and repository attribution.

Archived Material and Technical Names

Archived diagrams, screenshots, images, and other inherited assets retain their original markings, labels, and filenames. An FOME marking in an archived asset is historical provenance or a storage reference; it does not indicate that the asset was created by Capoworks.

Capoworks distributions may retain inherited technical names for compatibility or because they remain accurate identifiers. Examples include fome.bin, fome.dfu, fome_console.exe, fome_simulator.exe, and FOME_CAN_verbose.dbc. These literals should remain unchanged when following commands or locating files.

Third-Party Hardware and Content

Hardware product names, board designs, manufacturer links, and third-party resources remain credited to their original designers and producers. A board or accessory described here is not automatically a Capoworks-produced product. Follow the linked design source, producer documentation, and compatibility notes for that exact hardware.
